Product Name Chinoiserie Black & Gold Ruyi Bamboo Round Table Mat | Tang Dynasty Luxury PVC Leather

Description

Drawn from the visual grandeur of High Tang court culture — specifically the intricate gold-and-silver inlay work of the Four Phoenixes with Ribbons Bronze Mirror, one of the masterpieces of Tang Dynasty decorative art — this round table mat reinterprets imperial Chinese aesthetics in a commanding black and gold palette.

Two of the most resonant symbols in Chinese visual culture anchor the design: the flowing Ruyi (如意) motif, representing harmony and fulfilled wishes, and bamboo, the classical emblem of resilience, moral integrity, and refined character.

A round table mat that elevates every surface it rests on — from the everyday dining table to the curated tea room setting.

Care & Maintenance

Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth — no special products needed.

Everyday spills like water, coffee, tea, juice, and soup lift right off the surface.

For sauces that stain — think ketchup, hot sauce, chili oil, or oily condiments — blot and wipe promptly for best results.

Avoid alcohol-based cleaners, bleach, or anything abrasive. They'll dull the finish over time.

Store flat or loosely rolled when not in use.

It takes about 7-15 days to USA, Europe and Australia. To other countries, please refer to the actual logistics time or consult customer service.

The Tang Dynasty (618–907 CE) is widely regarded as the golden age of Chinese decorative arts — a period of cosmopolitan cultural exchange, technical mastery, and aesthetic confidence that produced some of the most celebrated objects in Chinese art history. The gold-and-silver inlaid bronze mirrors of the High Tang period, with their intricate phoenix and scroll compositions, represent the pinnacle of that achievement. The Ruyi (如意) motif — derived from the shape of a sacred fungus and the form of a wish-granting scepter — became one of the most enduring auspicious symbols in Chinese decorative art, appearing across imperial ceramics, silk embroidery, and architectural ornament from the Tang Dynasty through the Qing. Bamboo, one of the Four Gentlemen (sìjūnzǐ 四君子) of classical Chinese painting, has represented moral steadfastness and refined character for over a thousand years. At JiangnanSourcing, we carry this legacy of considered luxury into objects made for the contemporary table.
