Yixing Zisha Teapot Introduction

Crafted in Yixing’s historic Dingshu Town, the Zisha teapot reflects a thousand years of Chinese tea culture and artisan tradition. Each piece is formed from naturally occurring purple clay—selected, refined, and shaped entirely by hand. Its distinctive colors, from vermillion to deep purple, arise purely from the clay’s own minerals, without any glaze or additives.

Zisha is prized for its purity and breathability. When brewing, the pot allows tea to release fuller aroma and softer, rounder flavor. Over time, it develops a gentle, natural sheen, becoming a personal companion that records every cup.

Simple to care for—rinse with warm water and let dry naturally—an Yixing teapot is both a functional tool and a refined collectible, appreciated by tea lovers and connoisseurs around the world.

The Qin-Scale Teapot (秦权壶) derives its form from the ancient “Quan” weighing scale standardized during the Qin Dynasty. Symbolizing balance, authority, and cultural order, the Qin Quan shape has become one of the most revered classical forms in Yixing Zisha history—admired for its upright posture, steady lines, and calm imperial aura.

This piece is crafted by Fan Qinjun (范勤俊), a nationally recognized Yixing Zisha craftsman whose works are collected by the Yixing Art Museum and Wuxi Museum. His award-winning creations, including “Dragon & Phoenix Chengxiang” (Gold Medal, China Arts & Crafts Expo) and “Dahe Ling” (Gold Medal, Tiangong Cup), highlight his mastery in classical forms and refined clay workmanship.

Each Qin-Scale teapot reflects the ancient spirit of Zisha culture—balanced, dignified, and built for a lifetime of tea appreciation.
