Formed from original pear-skin vermilion clay (梨皮朱泥), the teapot displays a warm red tone accented by fine mineral speckles. The clay is renowned for its lively air permeability and responsiveness to tea, allowing each brew to emerge soft, fragrant, and layered.
The body is round and steady, reminiscent of a ceremonial bell—hence the name De Zhong. Its lines are clean and powerful, while the finely crafted ball-hole water outlet ensures a smooth, controlled pour. Over time, with proper tea-raising, the surface matures into a soft, lustrous sheen, deepening in character.
For collectors and daily tea drinkers alike, this De Zhong teapot represents the essence of traditional Yixing artistry—functional, refined, and profoundly classical.

Zisha Teapot Introduction
Zisha pots are handmade clay crafts unique to China, made of Zisha clay from Dingshu Town, Yixing, Jiangsu Province. According to documentary research and the evidence of surviving and unearthed artifacts, Zisha pots first arose in the Song Dynasty, with a history of 1,000 years. Natural Yixing Zisha vermilion clay, is lead-free, cadmium-free, excellent air permeability, when brewing loose-leaf tea, the tea soup is more mellow and tasty, even in the summer can take a long time to maintain the colour, aroma and taste does not deteriorate!
Much of the unique quality of Yixing teapots comes from the special dark brown clay they are fashioned from. The clay is not simply dug from the ground but is made from rocks unique to the area, ground into powder, and mixed with water. Craftsmen choose several different types of rock and combine them in different proportions in light of what they are planning to make. The different colors of the best Yixing pottery come from different colored clays, not from paint or glazes, so pieces with several colors use several different clays. As a result, Yixing pottery is less brightly colored than Chinese porcelain and uses more muted earth tones.
Since the clay absorbs flavor, you should keep the pot clean by washing it with warm water once you've finished drinking. But never clean it with soap - the soap can seep into the clay and give a soapy aftertaste to the next pots of tea! If you forget to clean it and the old leaves turn foul, adding boiling water, immediately pouring it out, and placing the pot in cold water will freshen the flavor again.
Easy to use, put the tea leaves into the teapot, and brew with boiling water, after a few minutes the tea broth will become more mellow and delicious, and then you can sip the tea; suitable for black tea, green tea, flower tea and pu-erh tea, oolong tea and so on.
Zisha pots are "antiques" with art collection value, and the works of famous masters are often hard to find.
