This silver-plated blue and white Shi Piao teapot is made of Dehua mutton-fat jade white porcelain, which is as warm and smooth as jade. It combines under-glaze blue and white, silver overglaze and silver-drawing techniques. The half blue and white and half silver-plated design showcases elegant and graceful oriental aesthetics. The twined branches, also known as "longevity vines", originated in the Han Dynasty and symbolize auspiciousness and endless life. The continuous twined branches are combined with lotus to form a unique pattern, hence the name "Twinkle Lotus".
