Important Considerations for Collectors

  • Precision & Fit: This is a hand-wrought silver piece, not a molded clay pot. A slight leak from the lid at the start of a pour is normal and a characteristic of the metal-on-metal fit.

  • Natural Patina: Silver naturally tarnishes over time and with use. This oxidation is a hallmark of the material's purity.

  • Certification: Each teapot comes with an official purity certificate. Please note that the weight and test date on the certificate will correspond specifically to your unique piece.

  • Shipping Note: Due to the value and nature of this item, e-Packet shipping is not available. Please select a premium shipping method at checkout to ensure secure delivery.

The Qujing Legacy

The story of this teapot begins in Qujing County, nestled within the high-altitude plateaus of Yunnan, China. This region has served as the heartbeat of Chinese silver craftsmanship for over 1,500 years, dating back to the Tang Dynasty.

The makers of the "Ju Lun Zhu" are specialized Yunnan Silversmiths who spend decades mastering the "cold-hammering" technique. Unlike mass-produced ware, each teapot is shaped from a single sheet of .999 fine silver. This labor-intensive process requires thousands of precise strikes to achieve the iconic "Ju Lun Zhu" (Solid Wheel Bead) shape—a profile favored by tea masters for its balanced center of gravity and rapid heat distribution. When you hold this teapot, you are holding fifteen centuries of metallurgy, refined into a tool for the modern gong fu tea table.
