The Heritage
This 2017 Shoumei originates from the high-altitude tea gardens of Xikun Village in Guanyang Town, Fuding—an area renowned for its "High Mountain" (Gao Shan) terroir. Harvested from 20-year-old Fuding Dahao trees at an elevation of approximately 700 meters, the leaves benefit from a misty, mineral-rich environment.
True to the Fuding tradition of "One-year tea, three-year medicine, seven-year treasure," this 2017 vintage has reached its "Treasure" stage. Unlike mass-produced teas, this batch was aged exclusively in its loose-leaf form, preserved in airtight, aluminum-lined storage to protect the delicate downy fragrance while allowing the pectin and sugars to concentrate into its signature "rice soup" thickness.
The Maker
Crafted by the artisans at Xiao Shi Jie, this tea is a testament to the "minimal intervention" philosophy. The maker utilizes a 100% natural sun-drying process, eschewing modern mechanical heat to ensure the enzymes remain active for long-term transformation.
This specific batch rose to prominence after winning the Gold Award at the World Kung Fu Tea Competition. Originally kept in the maker's private collection for personal aging, its exceptional balance of floral jujube notes and honey-like sweetness earned it the highest honors, making it one of the most sought-after Shoumei vintages from the 2017 harvest.
